A week with Casinacho Games

I'll admit I went into Casinacho Games expecting to uninstall it by the second day. Mini-game collections often feel like padding, a dozen half-baked ideas thrown together. This one surprised me by actually being fun to return to.

The trick, I think, is how little friction there is. You open it, a round starts almost instantly, and thirty seconds later you're either grinning or trying again. During a slow afternoon I realised I'd played maybe forty short rounds without noticing, just cycling between the reflex tests and the pattern-matching modes.

My favourite is a simple timing game where you tap to stop a moving marker on target. It sounds basic, and it is, but chasing a personal best became a genuine little compulsion. The pattern modes take a bit longer to warm up to but reward a steadier hand.

If I had one gripe, it's that a couple of modes overlap in feel and I stopped opening them entirely. Still, for a free-floating way to fill five minutes, Casinacho Games earned a permanent spot on my second home screen — and that's more than most apps in this category manage.

My advice: don't try to master everything. Find the two or three modes that click for you and treat the rest as bonus.
